What is BOPP?

Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene film is a thermoplastic polymer film of polypropylene with an orderly molecular structure formed by biaxial orientation process. The processes improve the optical and gas barrier properties of the film. With excellent clarity, high tensile and impact strength, good dimensional stability and flatness, low electrostatic charge, corona treatment on one or both sides, waterproof and moisture repellant, excellent transparency, lower density, gas and moisture barrier properties, etc., Bopp film can be used as substitutes for cellophane, PVC, IPP, CPP, PE and other plastic films for enhancing product functions and thus prove to be highly cost-efficient.

Applications

BOPP films originally achieved popularity by replacing cellophane. Superior in protection and appearance, BOPP films are the most suitable flexible packaging material for a large variety of products, with an excellent cost/performance ratio. As new film developments continue to evolve, J B Plastics BOPP films are becoming even more important, replacing traditional flexible packaging materials such as paper, aluminum foil, and other plastic films (LDPE, HDPE, PVC).

J B Plastics’ Bopp film has become the indispensable material for elegant packaging, strong adhesive tapes, textile bags, bags & wrappers, photo albums, cigarette packaging, flower sleeves, packaging of dry foods and even ice-cream, audio and video package, book cover and wrapping, paper overlay, plywood overlays, release films for image/decal transfers, metallized films, etc.

Other applications include packaging of jewellery, incense sticks (agarbatti), rakhis and friendship bands, audio/video cassettes, confectionery etc., the endless possibilities limited only by your imagination.
